FAQ

Q. Do I need a passport?
A. If you are travelling internationally, the answer is "yes". Make sure that it doesn’t expire six months prior to your departure date. If you are traveling June 1, 2016 and your passport expired August 1, 2016, it is recommended that you renew your passport before departure.

Q. Can I use my cellphone for international travel?
A. Contact your service provider and make sure that you have added International Service to your account during the time of travel to avoid roaming charges.

Q. What will the weather be like?
A. I cannot predict the weather. I would recommend checking the weather website, www.weather.com prior to your departure. I usually check it a week in advance so I can pack accordingly.

Q. I have dietary restrictions, can I request special meals?
A. Your travel agent can notify the resort, (if you staying at an all-inclusive) that you will require special meals. If you are cruising, the agent will also notify the cruise line. Upon your check-in, you also can confirm or personally request special accommodations.

Q. Do I need travel insurance?
A. Travel insurance is recommended. Specifics will be discussed at the time of booking.

Q. Will I get sick or seasick?
A. Most ships are so big and well stabilized that you can hardly tell you’re moving, especially in calm waters of the Caribbean and Alaska’s Inside Passage. Radar helps ships outrun hurricanes and other bad-weather patches, but if you do happen to pass through some rough water, any queasiness can usually be relieved by an over-the-counter medication like Dramamine or Bonine. Alternative remedies include ginger capsules and acupressure wristbands, available at most pharmacies.

Q. Will I get bored?
A. No way! You may need a map to navigate around today’s big ships, and there’s something to do in early every corner. To get your heart pumping, visit the ship’s gym or play some hoops. For intellectual stimulation, you can listen to guest speakers, participate in Bridge tournaments or attend wine lectures. There are pools for soaking and swimming, boutiques for shopping and spas for pampering. You can participate in contests, do crafts, watch movies or simply grab a book and get a tan. You can amp it up with recreational options like waterslides, rock climbing walls and ropes courses.
